What to share with AI agents

Be found in AI search. Without giving away what makes you money.

AI assistants are the new storefront: if they cannot read you, they cannot recommend you. The same agents also copy price lists, collect staff contacts and repeat your claims as guarantees. The answer is not open or closed. It is four tiers.

The trade-off

Blocking makes you invisible. Opening up gives away the asset.

Block all agents

You disappear from the answer

When a buyer asks an assistant who sells what you sell, your competitors get named and cited. You don't.

Let everything through

Your site becomes a free dataset

Full catalogues with prices, partner terms, named contacts and gated content, taken in bulk, with no lead and no record.

Four tiers

Visible where it helps, closed where it counts

Agents can find and recommend you, get accurate answers, and are sent to you for anything worth a conversation.

Four sharing tiers

Sort what you have by what it is worth.

Every page, fact and figure on your site fits one of these. The gateway enforces each tier with the mode that suits it.

Tier 01 · Discoverable

Share freely

What goes here
What you do, products at the category level, public list prices, locations, the general contact route.
What the agent gets
The pages themselves, with private parts removed. This is what wins citations in AI answers.
Escort and doorman
Tier 02 · Answerable

Answerable, not extractable

What goes here
Detailed specs, compatibility, "can it do X", support and documentation.
What the agent gets
An accurate answer to its question, with sources. Not the raw page, and never the whole dataset.
Doorman only
Tier 03 · Earned

Ask us for it

What goes here
Quotes, datasheets, samples, protocols, a named sales rep.
What the agent gets
"Request it here" and a link to your quote or contact page. The lead still comes to you.
Doorman points the way
Tier 04 · Private

Never

What goes here
Commercial terms, people, pre-release material and anything else on the list below.
What the agent gets
Nothing. The pages are closed, the parts are removed, and the answer check stops it leaking through an answer.
Closed and checked

Tier 02 is what doorman mode makes possible: you stay visible to AI search without handing over the page.

Tier 04, in practice

What site owners usually keep to themselves.

  • Commercial termsNegotiated and volume pricing, discount codes, partner and distributor rates, how quotes are worked out.
  • PeopleNamed staff emails and phone numbers, org charts, sales reps' details. Scraped for outreach and phishing.
  • Pre-releaseUnreleased products, pipeline data, recall or batch details, regulatory filings in progress.
  • Gated contentWhitepapers, protocols, application notes and datasheets behind a form. Often the engine of lead generation.
  • ClaimsEfficacy or accuracy figures out of context, which an assistant may restate as a guarantee. A real risk in life sciences and medtech.
  • Bulk valueA full catalogue with prices and specs, which competitors and aggregators can copy wholesale.
Ready-made policies

Start from a preset. Apply it in one click.

Each preset sets up the four tiers for a kind of business: which pages are answered rather than handed over, what stays closed, what your doorman says, and the rules the answer check enforces. It comes with example answers that teach the check, and you can change anything afterwards.

General

A sensible default for any business site.

  • Spec, docs and support pages answered, not handed over
  • PDFs, downloads, partner and distributor areas closed
  • Quotes and named contacts get a link to your contact page

Biotech & pharma

For drug developers, CDMOs and reagent makers.

  • Pipeline, protocols and application notes closed
  • No efficacy, safety or off-label claims beyond your label
  • Adverse events go to your official reporting route

Medtech

For device and diagnostics makers.

  • Answers stay within your cleared indications
  • No clinical advice; people are referred to their clinician
  • No recall or batch details beyond public notices

Lab suppliers

For reagent, consumable and instrument suppliers.

  • Catalogue answered item by item, never in bulk
  • Volume pricing, certificates and datasheet PDFs closed
  • No promises on stock or delivery dates

In the dashboard, open Policy and pick a preset. Your own pages, agents, limits and payments stay as they are, and Undo puts your previous policy back.
